    The Mirror House

Many people even those who reside in Kuwait are not completely aware of ‘The House of Mirrors’ or hall of mirrors. However this is really an incredible wealth of art so accessible to the public at large and it is worth the visit. This house of mirrors belongs to Khalifa and Lidia Al-Qattan and it’s now considered as a museum as the wife of the renowned Kuwaiti artist has turned their house into a work of art using broken pieces of glass to decorate the outside and inside of the house. Located in Qadsiya, the house is still a private property so appointments have to be made prior for weekday visits. Approximately 100 tonnes of white cement and 75 tones of mirror have been used in the making of the mirror mosaics that spangle the outside and inside of this residential house.

    Thom Temple

Angkor Thom ("Great City"), (alternate name: Nokor Thom, Khmer) located in present-day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by King Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. At the centre of the city is Jayavarman's state temple, the Bayon, with the other major sites clustered around the Victory Square immediately to the north. Angkor Thom is the transform name from another alternate name of Nokor Thom, which is believed to be the correct one, due to neglect of calling it in incorrect pronunciation. The word Nokor (Khmer) is literally derived from Sanskrit word of Nagara (Devanāgarī), which means City, combining with Khmer word Thom (Khmer), which means Big or Great so as to form Nokor Thom then being altered to current name of Angkor Thom.
