Margalla Hills National Park is a national park located on the North of Islamabad city, lies within the Islamabad Capital Territory. This park includes the well-known hills of Islamabad that is Margalla Hills. This park was established in 1980 and it covers almost an area of 17,386 hectares.
This park is over-loaded with the natural beauty. Also, a variety of plants, trees, wildlife animals, and mammals are present in this park. The Southern side of the park has more deciduous and evergreen shrubs and trees of various heights. While in the north you can see the beautiful pine and the oak trees. Different types of birds can also be witnessed in this park such as Paradise Flycatcher, skylarks, pheasant them, Black grouse, Spotted Doves, the Egyptian vulture, hawks, falcons, and Eagles. Some Reptiles can also be found here. Margalla Hills National Park has a variety of mammals that includes Gray Gorals, Barking deer, Leopard, Wild Boar, fox and many others.
The main objective behind the creation of this park is to preserve the naturally beautiful environment of Margalla Hills. The tourist visiting Islamabad visits Margalla Hills National Park. This park is very much famous because of its beauty and natural environment. This park also has several hiking trails. Also, Margalla hill is also famous for rock climbing.
