The well-known Karachi Zoo is situated in the area of Garden, Saddar Karachi.
This zoological zoo is the largest zoo in Pakistan. This zoo was established in 1878 and it was known as “Gandhi Garden”. Later after the independence, the name of this zoo is changed to “Karachi Zoological Garden”. Karachi zoo has a lot of attractions for the visitors. It has an elephant house which houses elephants. This elephant house attracts the children towards this zoo. Karachi zoo also has a Reptile house that houses different types of reptile species. Reptile house has almost 13 different types of lizards and snakes.
There is also a separate space where a large number of crocodiles are enclosed. To see these large dangerous crocodiles just in front of your eyes gives a very strange feeling. There also exists a Natural History Museum, which has stuffed skins, feathers, horns etc of animals. This museum attracts the visitors especially students towards itself.
Karachi Zoo also has a good variety of birds that includes Rock pigeon, Mute swan, Green peafowl, Indian peafowl, and much more. Karachi zoo has a large variety of Mammals including Lion, Bengal tiger, Bactrian camel, Fallow deer, Spotted deer and much more. This zoo has greenery and plants which increase the natural beauty of this place. Karachi Zoo should be on the must-visit list because it is a great source of learning for the children.
